BONUS: “Growth Mindset” banner

What is a growth mindset, exactly? It means that you believe your skills and abilities will continue to improve with work, practice and perseverance. This will help your students face tough challenges, bounce back from setbacks, and be open to learning. Compare this to a fixed mindset, which means you believe your skills/ abilities are something you are born with – you either have them or you don’t.

Fixed mindset: “I’m not good at math. I can’t do this. I’ll never get it.”
Growth mindset alternative: “I don’t understand this yet. If I keep trying, I will get it.”

As a social worker in two elementary schools, I am always working with my students to develop a growth mindset to help them be open and motivated to learn. I LOVE getting to create these designs for you – and hope you and your students love them, too!

Thanks and love!
